Centralia House was a popular stop on the original IC that ran from Chicago to New Orleans. Est. 1854 and famous for its restaurant in the days before the dining car, it was the social center of Centralia before burning in 1918. It was rebuilt, survives today, and we live to carry on the bequeathed history and recipes.

Story says our Cajun cuisine and dishes are inspired by a train trip and meal to a famous restaurant in New Orleans. Whether you're coming for steak or one of our famous signature Creole dishes, may you be transported to Bourbon Street with the air of the famous Generals and Presidents storied to have dined right here.
The Amtrak trains from/to Carbondale/Du Quoin (Northbound Illini 392 & Southbound Illini 393) allow you to enjoy dining with us for three hours before catching the train home. We are less than one block from the Centralia station, which makes the trip even more convenient.
